NuclearPro FAQs

In anticipation of some of the questions we expect to receive about the academy, the following FAQs are offered. Feel free to contact us for additional information.

Q. What is NuclearPro?

A. NuclearPro is the shortened name for the Nuclear Protection Academy, Inc., a business name registered with the state of North Carolina. Established by Total Protection Services Carolinas, LLC, NuclearPro is a separate entity developed specifically to train current and aspiring security officers for the nuclear industry.

Q. Why do you have a separate academy? Isn't military and law enforcement training sufficient for nuclear security personnel?

A. A separate academy allows us to teach nuclear industry-specific classes. At NuclearPro, we understand the unique requirements for nuclear security training; key industry leaders have advised us what courses applicants and existing personnel need in order to be employable. Although members of the law enforcement community and former military personnel can become highly effective nuclear security officers, state mandated requirements must also be met before someone can work as a nuclear security officer.

Q. Who will be teaching your classes?

A. NuclearPro is tapping some of the finest minds in the nuclear industry to teach our classes. When you sign up for a class we'll provide you with information about your instructor including their industry background.

Q. When and where will classes be held?

A. Classes will be held beginning in Spring 2008. Some classes will be at offered at our Raleigh campus while others will be held at various sites across the country. In the near future you will be able to review course information and have access to an online schedule.

Q. What other courses will you be offering?

A. Besides armed and unarmed training security officer training, we will offer a Fit For Duty course, a comprehensive Self Defense program, and a Women in Nuclear program.

Q. Will you guarantee a job for me?

A. NuclearPro cannot guarantee employment for anyone nor are we making an offer of employment. Successfully completing our nuclear security officer training will help you be marketable to the various companies who may be hiring.
